To be a faithful, Christ-centered church where lives are transformed by the Gospel, relationships are strengthened through genuine fellowship, and our small-town community sees the light and hope of Jesus in all we do.
Pidcoke Baptist Church has been part of the Central Texas faith community for over a century. Originally organized in 1884 as Harmony Baptist Church with just four charter members, this small but faithful congregation has been a steady presence between Gatesville and Copperas Cove ever since. Early worship services were held in the local schoolhouse before the first sanctuary was built in 1907. After a fire destroyed it in 1909, a new building was completed by 1911. In 1916, the church adopted the name Pidcoke Baptist Church—the name we still carry with pride today.
A third sanctuary was built in 1934 and served the community for decades. Then in 2022, the current sanctuary was completed, continuing the church’s legacy of faith, fellowship, and resilience. Throughout our history, we’ve remained committed to the truth of God’s Word, the power of prayer, and the call to love and serve others. From camp meetings and baptisms in Cow House Creek to helping restore the Pidcoke Cemetery, our roots run deep in both our faith and our town.
Today, we’re a small church with a big heart—grounded in Scripture, centered on Christ, and open to anyone seeking a church family. Whether you’ve grown up in church or are just beginning to explore your faith, you’re always welcome here.
